Pros and Cons Of Update 1.11.6
The highly anticipated update 1.11.6 for LDOE (Last Day on Earth) came out on February 19, 2019, for Android users (sorry IOS). It included a revamp of the storage system, new raider quests, the introduction of grenades, locked chests, decreased fuel consumption for the chopper and a new temporary event amongst other things. Many people loved the update and praised its new features. Others, however, expressed their frustrations over how it was introduced. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons of update 1.11.6.
Storage
The new storage revamp implemented an upgrade system to the storage units on a survivor’s base. It also added visible labels to all boxes to help with organization. A small box (15 storage slots) can now be upgraded to a chest (25 storage slots) which is upgraded to a trunk (45 storage slots) which is upgraded to a rack (75 storage slots). Blueprints for the Chest and Trunk have been removed. The maximum amount of storage units on base is now limited to 40.
Pros
The obvious benefit of this new storage system is the fact that the survivor’s bases can now become less cluttered while ultimately retaining more storage space. If all 40 storage units on base are upgraded to racks, survivors can have a whopping 3000 storage slots available! That’s 300 more storage slots than what was previously obtainable in past updates.
This update also greatly benefits new players as the limit to the number of small boxes they can make is increased to 40. Instead of having a limit of 20 small boxes (300 storage slots), new players can make 40 (600 storage slots) which is incredibly convenient considering that small boxes are easy to make.
Survivors can also fit more loot into a smaller condensed area which allows players to save resources on walls and floors. A 1×1 room now has the capability to hold twice the capacity when storage units are upgraded to the max then what was previously allowed. Although racks seem costly, they actually save a lot of resources. Materials that would have been spent on upgrading walls around 100 storage units can now be allocated elsewhere due to the fact that the maximum number of storage units has been reduced by more than half.https://metahub.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Extra-300x170.png
Reducing the clutter in survivor bases also reduces loading and makes the game run faster. This is extremely convenient considering that Home is the location that survivors frequent most often.
Survivors can expect to see more decorative items in the future. With fewer storage units taking up valuable space in survivor bases, there can be more room for other items. The chopper garage and dog crate are just a few examples of why there is a need to reduce clutter. As more crafting tables and furniture are released, survivors will be thankful that they don’t have to worry about placing 100 storage units on top of that.
Cons
Although increasing the storage space limit is beneficial, some players might find that their maximum amount of storage slots has actually decreased at the moment. This is due to the fact that all excess storage units were deleted leaving only the higher tier storage units (ex. trunks and chest) which reduced the amount of storage slots in player bases. Luckily most survivors were compensated by having some of their trunks upgraded to racks and all survivors have the option of upgrading their storage units.
Kefir also gave most survivors mini heart attacks on the day of the update by disorganizing everyone’s loot. Fortunately, the new label function can help survivors locate and sort their loot (and it’s cheaper than painting storage units). The only drawback about the new labelling function is the fact that it’s not customizable and there’s very few options. Hopefully Kefir will add the ability to choose what label goes on storage units while also increasing the options for labels.https://metahub.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Update-2-300x240.jpg
Military boxes were removed in this update but don’t fret. They may be used in future updates. All who purchased any were given a corresponding amount of coins worth what they originally paid.
QnA with the devs:
Recently we had the chance to ask the lead game designer, also known as Cloud, a few questions about the update, specifically the storage rework, here’s what he had to say:
Q: Why was it decided that the new system would allow only 40 storage boxes?
A: Because we needed to limit space used by chests while keeping roughly the same amount of slots. From my experience of watching pro players – they tend to stack guns and other items without even using them ever. The limit should force them to manage their space instead of just piling all they can gather. With items that increase carrying capacity added (like chopper 8 slots, T3 backpack and maybe dog backpack) the problem will be even bigger. The other reason is to reduce load on devices. And the main reason for me – was to make bases look better, cuz before the update all bases looked like a pile of chests here and there. We plan on adding some more decorative items to make bases feel more comfortable. That’s why we need this chest limit. Also this new label system should make your base feel more like home I suppose.
Q: Why didn’t the storage slots in chests and small boxes increase to help players at early – mid game that do not yet have access to steel?
A: Also from my point of view the small chests capacity is ok for newcomers, as it’s not very hard to build a new chest. And keeps players involved in process of developing their shelter futhermore instead of having one endless chest to stack everything there and calm down.
Q: How come the military box was removed from survivors base’s but can still be found in bunker alfa floor four?
A:  It may sound strange but those are completely different items. They just use the same mesh and texture, but have nothing to do with each other. Also we need that chest for further updates.
Q: Will we be getting other items in the game in the future that we need lots of space for at the base that was previously used up by storage boxes?
A: Yes u will. But we feel that current amount of slots is enough to store everything players need, and if not they always find a way to make stashes all over the map. (here he is talking about bunkers Alfa and Bravo as well as the premade base’s on the map.)
Q: The new boxes so costly to make, instead of 200 steel for 2700 slots in the previous system it now costs 800 steel for 3000 storage slots. Why is this new cost so high?
A: To keep players engaged and up for a challenge. And while arguing about the new price you tend to forget that you need much much less walls to cover your stash with (currently) impenetrable steel walls.
Tips
·         If you’ve found that you’re final amount of storage slots has decreased from the initial amount you had before the update you can:
o    Use the storage slots in the choppers that you don’t use.
o    Put items in crafting tables and furnaces that aren’t being used at the moment.
o    Die at Home and store items at your body (do not do this with zombies or wolves).
o    Put items in the bunkers (preferably they should be replaceable items just in case).
·         If you find that the labels on your storage units don’t represent the items that you want, remember that the label only represents the majority of the loot inside.
Grenades
The https://metahub.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Grenade-Description-300x192.jpgGrenade is a non-craft-able range weapon that deals damage in a small radius around where it’s been thrown. The grenade can be found in various locations within locked chests. To acquire a grenade through a locked chest, survivors must have their Burglar skill upgraded.
Pros
The grenade is definitely a benefit to survivors in LDOE. It’s a small weapon that packs a punch, dealing 200 damage to unarmored enemies in a small area. The great thing about the grenade is that it’s stackable. Survivors can carry up to 20 grenades in one inventory slot. Grenades can also be placed in pockets for easy access.
Cons
With poor aiming though, a grenade can hurt and even kill survivors by accident if they get into the grenade’s radius of splash damage. Unlike guns and melee weapons, the grenade is one of the first weapons to be dependant on the survivor’s aim. Having a weapon that requires skill in aiming isn’t exactly a drawback, but the learning curve for using the grenade correctly is a lot steeper than other weapons.
Locked Chestshttps://metahub.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Lvl3-Locked-Chest-300x269.jpg
Locked chests have been implemented throughout various locations in LDOE. They can be distinguished by the chains that surround them. Locked chests can only be opened if a survivor has the Burglar skill leveled. There are three levels that the Burglar skill can be upgraded to and each level corresponds with a certain tier of locked chests.
Pros
The locked chest allows for survivors to gain extra loot. If there is a locked chest in a farmable location, it doesn’t detract from the number of chests that there usually should be in that location. This means that even if a survivor does not have their Burglar skill levelled, they will still get the amount of loot that they should at locations.
Cons
There’s not much of a drawback to gaining access to free loot. The only survivors who could possibly see a downside to this new feature are those that don’t have the Burglar skill as they are restricted from accessing the loot. There are also some rooms and chests in locations like the Motel and Bunker that now require the Burglar skill to be able to unlock them. Survivors that didn’t choose the Burglar skill in the last update will be kicking themselves for it now.
Raiding
With the new update came an increase in the variety of raider tasks that survivors can get. Some of the old raider quests were thrown out while others were kept. In addition to new quests, the cost of skipping these tasks was also halved.
Pros
The wider variety of tasks give survivors more of an option when receiving quests from the raiders. Survivors have less of a chance of getting the dreaded clearing Bunker Alfa floor four or killing the Witch with all these new tasks. The decreased cost of skipping the tasks also making completing all raiding quests more manageable and easier.
Cons
Many of the tasks can easily be completed by most survivors but some are considerably more difficult. Tasks like killing the Witch, killing 3 Bulls and finding 5 Car Engines can be completed by more experienced survivors but may seem impossible to newer players. Newer players may be stuck with the choice of either refusing the raiders and risking getting harder tasks or being stuck with the tasks for a considerable amount of time.
Carnival Event
Update 1.11.6 came with the temporary Carnivalhttps://metahub.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Lucas-House2-300x156.jpgEvent. The location Lucas’ House pops up every day for 8 hours and survivors can travel to the location to meet Lucas. Lucas requests that the players find him Threads, Pins, and Belts in return for loot (similar to the Specialist). These items can be found in chests at farmable locations or from dead zombies. Survivors can gain 3 B Complex, an AK-47, an Electronic Circuit, the Sight x4 mod for the AK and a unique Brazil chopper pattern.
In the LDOE shop, there’s a new Carnival tab that offers a Hot Pack and a new Carnival Chopper pattern. The Hot Pack can only be bought 12 times. It offers an un-modded Uzi, an AK-47 (Large Magazine, Sight x4, Handmade Silencer, and Red Laser), C4, Military Backpack, 5 First Aid Kits, 3 Valuable Survivor’s Diaries, 100 coins (very rare), Milkor MGL (extremely rare) and 10 Grenades (extremely rare).
Tips
·         To farm Threads, Pins, and Belts:
o    Travel back and forth between red and yellow farmable zones, clearing only zombies and opening chests.
·         Belts are worth the most to Lucas while Threads are worth the least.

Bunker Alfa Guide

How to open the door
·       When you first go to the bunker, you need a bunker alfa card to open it. Once you open it you don’t need to open it again.
·       You can get the card from zombies, in airdrops or from the convoy event when you first go there.
Floors:
Bunker Alfa consists of five floors:
1.       The Lobby
2.     First Floor
3.     Second Floor
4.     Third Floor
5.     Fourth Floor

The Lobby:
The Lobby is the first area you find when you enter Bunker Alfa The card can be obtained by killing zombies. There is also a dead military officer outside of the bunker door, with a Glock 17 inside his inventory.
There are 7 military lockers inside the lobby, containing various useful items and resources. These chests can also be used as storage for excess items, and bunker clearing supplies. However, the developers may chose to randomly wipe these boxes, so use them at your own risk.

The First Floor

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/524998975535841330/537634892637536257/5-1.png
The first floor of Bunker Alfa has four fast biters, and one roaming zombie, these however are not the main focus of the floor. There is also the overseers room, and the ticket crates. I’ll be covering the overseer in the floor two section of this article. There are three ticket crates: the green ration crate, the yellow survival crate, and the red combat gear crate. They require 20, 25 and 30 of each coloured ticket respectively to open.
Each ticket crate will give some guns, armour, and if you’re lucky some engine parts too. The yellow and red ticket crates can also give the chopper wheels, fork and gas tank. The green crate gives one gun and takes 20 tickets to open. The yellow crate gives two guns and takes 25 tickets to open; and the red ticket crate gives 4 guns, two of which are modded, and requires 30 tickets to open.
All crates will also give a mix of armour, aluminium, food, paints, and other useful items, such as signal amplifiers and C-4.

The Second Floor

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/524998975535841330/537631915507974154/Untitled.png
The second floor is the easiest to clear for low level players, you can make your way through without encountering a large amount of enemies, and by using this map, you will be able to avoid all of the frenzied giants. However if you already have guns then there’s no need to avoid them as the frenzied giants have the highest chance of dropping red tickets.
At the end of the second floor is a room with two Toxic Abominations, as well as a gunsmith bench to modify your weapons. Here you will also be able to rescue the overseer; he’s trapped in a gated section of the room by the two Abominations.
Once you free him you will be able to gain access to the overseer room on the first floor. Here you can activate the bunker security protocol, cash in floppy disks, and trade in spare blueprints. The bunker Alfa security protocol activates hard mode, a separate article will be made to cover hard mode. Unless you have a large supply of guns then bunker hard mode is not recommended.

The Third Floor

The third floor of bunker Alfa is the best place to get yellow and red tickets. It also houses a few unique features:
·         Laser alarms
·         Electric Fences
·         The Acid Bath
·         The Gas Room
The third floor also houses The Blind One, however you can only fight him (her?) once you have activated hard mode.
Laser alarms
Towards the end of the third floor is a set of lasers, walking through these will activate a loud buzzer and some flashing lights. As of the moment there is no other purpose to these alarms however we can hope the devs add something in the future.
The alarms can be disabled by heading to the room in the top right corner of the third floor. In the room is a workstation that you can interact with, as well as a military locker that you can loot for some assorted items. To get there you will need to fight a minimum of two frenzied giants so take either a gun or a bow with you. However note that bows will take a long time to kill Frenzied Giants.
Electric Fences
The electric fence can only be found in one spot on the third floor, this is in the final room, behind it is a Frenzied Giant and a storage box with some mediocre loot. The electric fence cannot be disabled, and will damage you for 5 damage at a rate of 7 hits a second. It is also unaffected by armour so will deal the same damage if you’re naked; or wearing swat.
The Acid Bath
The room containing the acid bath can be accessed by either going through the gas room whilst wearing a gas mask, or by going through the room next to the terminal for the lift that has a Frenzied Giant and a Toxic Abomination inside.
The room containing the acid bath also has 7 Toxic Spitters, however once you eliminate them you will be able to interact with a chalk board to learn the blueprint for the acid bath. (The acid bath is used for cleaning infected boxes, which you can obtain from raids and floppy disks.)
The Gas Room
The gas room is currently the only place where you can use the gas mask. The room contains 2 military lockers which can give some red tickets, as well as glocks and random armour pieces etc.

The Fourth Floor

The fourth floor of Bunker Alfa was the most recent addition, it contains 6 turrets to either destroy or speed-run past and hope they don’t kill you. However if you have the raiders task to break 5 turrets than the fourth floor is going to be the fastest way to do it.
This floor also contains a couple of rooms that are only accessible with the use of a dog with the true friend trait, inside of those rooms you can get the flare gun, which can only be found here, and in the farm chest. (And of course on raids if you get lucky.)
As mentioned in a previous article about farming steel, the fourth floor of the bunker, whilst the smallest, requires the most amount of guns. This is due both to the amount of turrets present, and the frozen zombies which are found in 3 separate rooms of this floor, the frozen zombies heal themselves every time they hit you, making them rather hard to kill with melee.
That’s going to wrap it up for this overview of Bunker Alfa, I hope you all found it helpful. More in-depth guides for each of the floors will be posted soon. As always let us know in the comments what you would like to see covered next.

Survivors! Update 1.11.2 is now available for both IOS and Android users! This update focuses on bringing more interactive play into Sector 7. There are 2 new types of enemies, Ashy Zombie and Ashy Runner. There is also now lootable chests in the Infected Wasteland (The only travelable zone past Sector 7). Finally, they have added a new weapon called the Revolver!
Official Update Description:
·         Martial law in sector 7. The zone is filled with Ashy zombies.
·         In fights your power armor got damaged, you’ll need a hazmat suit.
·         You can enter the zone without the suit, but then you will die a painful death from radiation;
·         On the location Infected Wasteland you can find first-aid kits, old revolvers, and parts of Hazmat suit.
Sector 7

The required items to open the Gateway Door to unlock sector 7. This update focuses on bringing more interactive play into sector 7! Sector 7 is an unlockable location requiring a variety of resources to unlock. It is currently the only location where you can encounter other players and allows some form of multiplayer. This update is the first of its kind to allow players to bring objects into sector 7. Currently, these objects are limited to The Revolver, Bandages, and Hazmat suit pieces. This update also brought 2 new sector 7 exclusive enemies; Ashy Runner and Ashy Zombie. They have 80 and 40 HP respectively and deal 5 damage to a player wearing full hazmat armor.
Hazmat Suit
The Hazmat Suit, on a player showing the suit’s stats and appearance. The Infected Wasteland now has radiation! You can still enter the location without any protection, but beware! Anyone who enters the location without wearing radiation protection (Hazmat Suit) will take damage. A player without a Hazmat Suit will take 4 damage every second due to the radiation. You can obtain one full durability Hazmat Suit in the Sector 7 lobby on a conveyor belt beside where you receive your missions. You can also find other parts of the suit (with less durability) in chests in the Infected Wasteland or off fallen player bodies. The Hazmat Suit contains four parts, the helmet, chest piece, pants, and boots. Combined, the set provides full protection from radiation, a defense rating of 10, and a movement speed of 40.
Old revolver
The Old Revolver is the newest weapon to be added to LDoE. Currently, it can only be found in the Infected Wastelands area as a common drop from chests, or a rare drop from killing Ashy Zombies or Ashy Runners. The item is uncraftable, and can only be found in locations. It deals 16 damage per shot, and has an attack speed of 0.8 making its damage per second 20. This places it as a lower tier firearm, but still effective against many enemies. It is currently the only weapon that can be found in Sector 7, making it the most efficient way to kill enemies past the Sector 7 wall.

New Sector 7 Mission
This shows the tasks which must be completed in Sector 7 to unlock the buff “chance to inflict critical damage with firearms” With a new sector 7 update comes a new sector 7 mission! This mission requires you to travel to the Infected Wastelands to kill 10 Ashy Runners, 20 Ashy Zombies and Open 1 Chest. These missions are relatively easy, and can be completed in just a few minutes. It is important to take a Hazmat Suit with you for this mission, as the environment is radioactive and will deal damage to you without it! Not to worry, in the Infected Wasteland you can find everything you need to complete the mission. In chests, or drops from fallen zombies you can find Bandages, Old Revolvers, and Hazmat Suit Pieces. For completing this mission, you get the same reward as always; “Increased chance to inflict critical damage with firearms”. This buff lasts for 1 hour, and can only be obtained once per day, so it is recommended you use it wisely!
Notable Features
A few new things have been added / changed this update! In the Sector 7 lobby you can now find a chest which allows you to store 5 items. This may seem very unimportant, but it could hint at multiplayer storage at clan bases! There was also a new conveyor belt added next to the mission terminal. Currently this only dispenses Hazmat Suits, but this opens up the opportunity for therm to provide us with more equipment or even new rewards for completing a mission! The power armor suit now displays that it is damaged. We can no longer wear the armor, which tells us that eventually we will have to repair the armor to wear it.
Lastly, an important change is that with the addition of chests in multiplayer locations, we cannot place items in the chest. This shows us that Kefir has no intention of adding resource sharing through multiplayer locations any time soon. Multiple players can open a chest at once; hinting that there may only be set rewards per zone!

Sector 7.

The  Wall. Sector 7  was changed in Beta v.1.11.7, now is Camp. Sector 7. This is a multiplayer area where players can find other members...
